Gemini

GeminiGemini is a lovely Fox Terrier lady. Because of economic pressures, her family couldn’t afford vaccinations or heartworm testing since 2008.  After much soul-searching, they tearfully surrendered her to American Fox Terrier Rescue in the Spring of 2011.

American Fox Terrier Rescue ’s local volunteer reviewed her paperwork and quickly scheduled a routine veterinary examination. During Gemini’s vet appointment, a significant heart murmur was detected. To better understand Gemini’s medical condition, American Fox Terrier Rescue scheduled an echocardiogram to determine the severity of Gemini’s heart murmur and identify the best course of treatment for her.

Gemini's American Fox Terrier Rescue foster Mom accompanied her to the clinic and stayed with her while she was examined. Gemini’s heart was in good working condition however there was thickening of the walls of her heart.  The canine cardiologist prescribed a low dosage medication to help her heart function more effectively and recommended additional echocardiograms over the next 18 months.  Gemini has since been adopted to a wonderful forever family who understand her future medical care requirements.
