GREAT NEWS IN THE WORLD OF DOUG

First of all, Doug would like to, once again, say "Thank You" to everyone who has supported his recovery - monetarily, physically, and all the well wishes.  You all made a difference in the life of a very special dog.

Now on to our news:  Doug had his most recent check up on Friday, January 14th.  He was examined and had another lung x-ray done.  The results are beyond anything we'd hoped for!

According to Dr. Judi, "I x-rayed his lungs - they are markedly improved.  Now he just looks like "old Dog lungs".  He has increased bronchial pattern, no sign of pneumonia.  His trachea is normal, I don't believe he has collapsing trachea - but if he does - it's not an issue."

So Monday is a big day for Doug!  He will be going back to see Dr. Judi and he will finally be able to be neutered, have all of the old debris and dirt in his ears cleaned out once and for all, and get those infected teeth taken care of!  We are so excited for him!  Edi and William (his foster humans) and Stella (his foster fox terrier sister) are the reason this boy is flourishing.  They love him so much, and give him all the pets and scratches and tummy rubs and cuddles that a dog could want.  They're watching him like a hawk medically and making sure he gets all of his medications and they add lots of kisses, too!  Thank you, Edi.  You're one in a million!

Send all the good karma you can muster to Doug on Monday.  We'll let you know how he does.  And thank you! thank you! thank you! for your support in helping Doug get better!  He was a dog that was basically "disposable", and would have died in the mill by now.  Instead, because of many caring people, he's got a chance at years of happiness!  Doug will always be on medication for his bronchial issues due to the damage done by the untreated pneumonia (akin to COPD in humans), but at least it's all manageable.

Again, this couldn't happen without your ongoing support.  Help us give all these wonderful dogs the gift of health.  Just click the "Donate" button below to make your tax deductible donation via PayPal.  Or mail your tax deductible donation toKathy Lauer, American Fox Terrier Rescue Treasurer, 8738 Prestwick Parkway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443
