Dogs from MO puppy mill 2010

Day 2 Update

Wednesday, PAWS took 2 males and 2 females to get all cleaned up.  All reports are that they did very well. Despite the bathing, dip, blow drying, brushing and clipping, they were happy enough to give the ladies tail wags and kisses. Jackie, Carol, and Shellie did a great job washing and grooming the lucky Fox Terriers.

When they were finished, Millie (another wonderful  PAWS member) fed the ladies homemade soup and hot chocolate.... which warmed their bodies to match their very warm hearts!  Carol then brought the four squeaky clean pups to her home and let them loose in a 10 x 20 pen. They ran, jumped and played, celebrating their freedom!  Nothing is more heartwarming than seeing a puppy mill dog be able to run full out for the first time.

Please Help The Missouri 11

Thank you for your support in getting these dogs healthy and into wonderful, warm homes!

On November 30, 2010 with the cooperation of the State of Missouri and the Pet Adoption and Welfare Service (PAWS) in Missouri, American Fox Terrier Rescue was able to rescue 11 Wire Fox Terriers from a puppy mill whose breeding license was revoked. After much local and long distance planning, 8 volunteers from PAWS successfully retrieved the 5 female and 6 male Wire Fox Terriers from the puppy mill.

Every detail of the rescue was carefully planned to ensure the dogs' and rescuers' safety and to minimize the stress on the dogs.  The dogs range in age from 1 to 9 years old. Once they were safely secured by PAWS, the dogs were taken for bathing, grooming and deworming. Thorough vet exams including a full panel of vaccinations and heartworm testing have been scheduled.  American Fox Terrier Rescue is committed to ensuring that any additional medical care is fully funded.
