UPDATE: Another Visit With Blaze

Blaze’s star is shining just a little brighter every day. Today when I got there, George was about to take her outside for her potty break – he told me that in the whole time she’s been there, she’s only ever had one accident in her cage and that was just a day or so after she first got there and was so sick from all the stuff going on in her mouth; once they got that cleared up, not even a little wee-wee has happened; even after surgery when she was still so groggy, she waited to go out to relieve herself. She’s very meticulous about her potty, so I suspect she was housetrained at some point.

As you can see, I’m looking really beautiful now – lots better than I did three weeks ago today when I got rescued from the mean people.

FABULOUS NEWS FOR BLAZIE!!!! Tumor in her mouth was NOT cancer. Biopsy on the mammary tumor shows no cancer cells either, but this cannot be confirmed until the whole thing is removed.

Just spoke to the clinic tech. Blazie continues to eat with enthusiasm and her mouth is healing well. Will talk to her doc later in the day for the full medical update -- and I'll go visit her myself as soon as I can (darn job gets in my way) :-) Thank you, thank you everyone for your love, prayers, concern and especially for the money you've sent. Keep powerful thoughts coming -- biopsies should be back on Friday.

UPDATE: Blaze Surgery Update

UPDATE SEPTTEMBER 9, 2011: Blaze went into surgery at 11am and the two surgeons didn't finish until after 3pm.

As they had suspected the mouth tumor had disintegrated her jawbone and palate, so they had to "create" some gum flaps and wire her jaw together. She was coming out of the anethesia well when they called with the update.
